Who Do I Work With?
In my Community Arts apprenticeship, I communicate with a lot of different people on a day to day basis. However, there are people who I refer to, and see regularly that I feel I should mention!

Irene Halliday: Arts Outreach Manager
Irene is the woman in charge of most aspects of the Community Arts Programme.
She is my Line Manager, I report to her if I take a day off, if i'm sick etc..
Caroline Loudon: Admin Assistant
Caroline covers a lot of different tasks required within the office. She takes bookings for the Community Arts Classes and ensures that everything runs smoothly. I work closely with Caroline as she sits directly across from me within the office. She shows me a lot of the work that she does so that I can have a better understanding of how everything operates. I help Caroline with little tasks on a day to day basis.
Laura McIver & Deborah McArthur: Peforming Arts Officers
Laura and Deborah are the ones running the performing arts classes. So for example, they run and sometimes take part in Children's Youth Theatre. Youth Theatre, Dance Classes, Little Groovers Monthly Class etc.
Laura has a background in Performing Arts and Dance and she is the one who suggested I attend "All Ability Movement" class at Charlotte Toal Centre and "Strictly Stretch" Class at Airdrie Town Hall.
Deborah has a Performing Arts and Music background which is great for the running of the Youth Theatre and the shows they produce.
Anne-Louise Kieran: Visual Art Officer
Anne-Louise is the person who runs the visual arts classes along with help from visual arts tutors. She sometimes takes the classes and ensures that everything is going to plan. I have helped Anne-Louise set up Art Exhibitions within Motherwell Concert Hall and Bellshill Cultural Centre. Her art background helps with the display of other artist's work as well as helping other's learn new techniques at the visual arts classes.
David Peace: Photography Officer
David is based in the Photomedia studio along side Laura McIver and Deborah McArthur. There are photography classes that run within the Photomedia studio that David plays a large part in. He is in charge of all photography work required from the Community Arts team. For example, a recent "Sheepie's Panto Masterclass" in Motherwell Concert Hall required almost 100 participants getting their photograph taken. David was in charge of hiring a photographer that he knew would be able to work in that specific situation.
Heather Thom: Pather Artworks Officer
Heather runs the art classes at Pather Artworks as well as teaching visual art classes at other venues. I attend the Thursday Pottery class where she shows me her skills and techniques so that eventually I should be able to help out as well.
Within the Summerlee office, Community Arts work alongside the Marketing Team where I sometimes help out too.
Lorraine Dornan: Marketing Manager
I sometimes help Lorraine, the Marketing Manager with the press cuttings they get. I arrange them into positive, neutral and negative, then put them into an excel document for their records.
Julie Sheenan & Fraser Grieve: Marketing Assistants
Julie and Fraser are a great help when it comes to covering market research in my college work. They show me where to access any information I require. They are assistants to Lorraine in the Marketing Department and cover all aspects of Marketing, including the CultureNL website and providing information about the Community Arts Classes.
For my apprenticeship I am required to complete a certain amount of modules to pass the qualification of a Diploma in Community Arts Management. Every two weeks my assessor from City of Glasgow College comes to visit myself here at Summerlee and go over the modules and complete them.
Mary Currie : Primary Assessor
Mary is my assessor from City of Glasgow College. As previously stated, Mary visits me at my office every fortnight to help me complete the modules. We use "Onefile" to upload evidence of my work so that we are able to talk over it at the next visit.
These are the main contacts that I communicate with the most.
